Family Entertainment Group has named Kevin Bachus its first Chief Product Officer, effective immediately. Bachus was one of the four individuals at Microsoft Corporation who conceived the Xbox video game console system. He joins FEG from Dave & Buster’s, where he helped set new standards of excellence at the industry-leading nationwide restaurant/entertainment chain over the past decade as its senior vice president of entertainment and game strategy.

In this newly created role, Bachus will be responsible for guiding the development of world-class products, services, and technologies that will continue to delight FEG customers across the country.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to our team,” said George Smith, president, and chief executive officer of FEG. “He has a remarkable record in our industry and high-impact expertise in entertainment centers, new product development, and technology. His skills will be critically important as we continue to develop and implement our strategy for delivering new and unique experiences for our customers.”

“Families are exceptionally discerning when it comes to how they spend their precious time together, and I believe FEG has uniquely positioned itself to deliver exceptional experiences that create lasting memories,” said Bachus. “The next few years will bring about incredible advances in interactive entertainment outside of the home and I am excited to have the opportunity to help FEG stay on the cutting-edge of this wave.”

Bachus brings extensive gaming and management experience to this new role. Before joining Dave & Buster’s, he held executive-level positions at a number of companies in the technology and video game industries. He also co-founded or led several cutting-edge gaming companies, including Capital Entertainment Group, the video game industry’s first independent production company, and Nival Interactive, the largest independent game developer in Eastern Europe. In his capacity as group product manager for the DirectX family of Windows technologies at Microsoft, Bachus was instrumental in the creation of the enormously successful Xbox video game system.
